Sitting on the upstairs veranda overlooking one of Jamaica's largest privately-owned beaches doesn't get any better than this! Or choose your spot, in the shade, under the large Almond Tree on the beach while the children play at the water's edge!

Three sets of french doors bring the outside in at Idle Hours - two sets in the living area and one from the indoor dining area to the dining area on your balcony with full sea views to brighten each day!

Located near the Runaway Bay golf course, water sports center, horseback riding and the new Water Park in Runaway Bay make this an ideal area for adults and children alike ... and a great value as well!! Idle Hours has a lovely pool, ample sundecks, outdoor beach shower, wireless Internet access for your laptop, cable TV and DVD player and iPod dock, There are hammocks, books and games at the villa along with 2 cribs. Idle Hours has a safe for passports, valuables, etc..

NEW to Idle Hours is a Sonos sound system that can play from an iPhone, Android phone, Sonos, iPad and/or any other tablet.
You can stream any kind of music from anywhere.

Full refurbishing of Idle Hours was completed and the entire villa was painted inside and out, new mattresses in each bedroom, new dining room table, new bedspreads, blankets and beach towels, new pots, pans, glasses, cutlery and many other items in the kitchen ... cushions updated on dining chairs and rocking chairs on the veranda. Many additional updates and servicing of A/C units as well as the Solar Panels at the villa.

Just 20 minutes from the legendary Dunn's Rivers Falls, and 30 minutes to Island Village in Ocho Rios, featuring Jimmy Buffett's Margueritaville Restaurant and Beach Bar; theater; shopping; deep-sea fishing, etc.

Hi Vicki,
We had a wonderful time at Idle Hours. The property is as-advertised -- the villa is clean and comfortable, it actually is bigger than what it appears like in the photos, the rooms are large and spacious, and the porch overlooking the ocean was incredible. The pool is ideal for lounging, just steps from the beach. And the best part of all was the beachfront right on the property. It was beautifully maintained, quiet, and it really does feel like your own private, personal beach. The staff was really good and professional. We ended up having them make most of our meals ... a few times we ate lunch outside. The location is really good in terms of accessing Dolphin Cove, Dunn's River Falls, horseback riding, and other activities. Overall, we were all very happy and would strongly recommend others to stay here. We would be interested in perhaps returning to stay at this property in the future. Thank you, Jonathan Feb 2020

Hi Vicki, We wanted to let you know that we had a wonderful stay in the Idle Hours rental house last month. It was the perfect set up for extended family with small children to vacation together. Dear Vicki,
We are having a most enjoyable time at Idle Hours. The staff have been so kind and helpful. We worked with the chef to plan the meals and they are wonderful. We have 2 vegetarians with us ....and there are more than enough choices. The house has been well cared for and immaculate. The housekeeper is a jewel beyond compare. We are planning to have the driver take us to Ocho Rios on Thursday. (Lunch at Toscanini and a museum). I can assure you that this group of gals is having a blast with lots of laughs and relaxation. We are college classmates and celebrated our 75th birthdays here with coconut cake, music and laughter. Thank you! With best regards, Barbara

Dear Vicki, You were right about Idle Hours, we had a real vacation of a lifetime. The staff were all wonderful, our food was perfect and the house was very clean and comfy. The view is gorgeous, I spent a good portion of my time sitting right on the veranda.
