About Scotch on the Rocks Villa - Ocho Rios Jamaica

Scotch on the Rocks is an ideal location, a privately nestled cove between two of Jamaica’s most prestigious hotels: Royal Plantation's 5-star boutique hotel and the legendary Jamaica Inn.

While completely private, Scotch on the Rocks is just minutes from lively Ocho Rios.

Scotchie, as it is affectionately called, was originally built by the late Scottish Lord, The Earl of Mansfield. Today, it is owned by members of the Red Stripe Beer family. Present owners have extensively renovated the home with a concentration on accommodating families. Victorian fretwork and warm mahogany floors are original, while Italian Travertine reflects recent renovations. Interior design is a tasteful eclectic mix of high-tech amenities combined with Jamaican and English antiques.

The iconic gathering place is the large furnished verandah overlooking the vast expanse of deep blue Caribbean Sea that is Scotchie's "front yard." Sitting here genuinely feels like lounging on the deck of a ship with nothing in sight but blue sea and sky. It's heaven.

Stone steps lead from the main house down a slope to a private cove and a fabulous, crystal clear cove that is wonderful for swimming, floating, snorkeling, and kayaking. Beside the waterfront deck is an outdoor shower. The gardener will place chaises on the seaside deck, and the butler will serve lunch there if you wish to stay on the waterfront all day.

Scotchie’s wonderful cook and butler merit special mention. Mealtimes here are memorable thanks to Cherie’s wonderful cooking and Bryan’s excellent service.

We had a great time at Scotch on the Rocks! The villa was amazing. The layout, furniture, everything was in great condition and we loved spending time there. The paddle boards and kayaks were super, it has everything we needed.
The staff were all fantastic. So attentive. They went above and beyond for my mother in laws birthday, with a happy birthday banner, balloons and a fabulous table setting. It was vert much appreciated. We were well catered for and they were very sweet with the children too. The food was fantastic! We always had enough to eat and Cherry was very happy to do anything we wanted.
The airport transfers were great. It took an hour and half each way. Both drivers were polite and friendly. We had a super time and we would love to go back!

Scotch on the Rocks was one of the best vacation experience I’ve ever had, my family loved it as well. We can’t stop raving about the staff at the Villa, they were tremendous, and made us feel right at home. Their hospitality was among the best I’ve ever received. And Miss Cherry’s and Elvis’ cooking, off the charts, we were so gleefully excited for every meal. Our experience from top to bottom was superior, including your services and all the upfront work.
