As the name suggests, Cliff House perches above the Caribbean Sea on the northwest Coast of Jamaica, in a quiet fishing village called Cousin’s Cove. The property nestles in nearly 2 acres of tropical woodland with the house perched 10 meters from the cliff edge giving breathtaking views of the ever changing sea, the glorious evening sunsets and the moonshine dancing on the waves. Steps lead from the garden down to a small deck and into the sea. The immediate coastline is surrounded by beautiful coral reef and a myriad of tropical fishes.

The house is a solid brick built construction with double height ceilings to ensure good air circulation and a cool environment, even at the height of summer heat. The house has recently been refurbished to a high standard with 5 bedrooms (2 en-suite) and is continually being improved. Our aim is to create a homey, friendly space with modern amenities, without losing the charm and quality of a genuine Jamaican hideaway.

The Garden - The house is set within 1.2 acres of beautiful, lush green woodland. The entrance to the property is dominated by a majestic bamboo tree that towers above the drive. Take a walk around the garden and you will find ackee, breadfruit, lime, banana, coconut and mango trees. There is a treehouse for the children and a cool shady corner where three hammocks can be set up for afternoon naps.

The Facilities - The house is well equipped to a high standard throughout. The kitchen has a large American fridge with ice maker and cool water on tap. There is a dishwasher, oven, toaster and juicer. The dayroom has an outside kitchen complete with built-in barbeque, fridge and sink.

There is a music system with CD player and has speakers in the living room and the outside day room. The speakers can be switched on and off in each location or both played at the same time. There is a telephone and fax machine. In the main courtyard is a laundry room with washing machine and sink for the use of guests and the housekeeper, Angelita.

There is a good selection of children’s toys, books and games stored in the cupboards in the living room including backgammon, chess and a special version of Jenga made by O’Neil – a great way to end an evening (a shot of rum being the traditional forfeit). There is also a badminton set and other garden games.

Cousins Cove - The North West Coast of Jamaica remains unspoiled and Cousins Cove is without doubt the most beautiful of all the coastal villages. The majority of travellers who head west arrive at Montego Bay and tend to go straight for the commercial resort of Negril. Certainly worth a visit to see, feel and live the real Jamaica, Cousins Cove is the perfect location.
